A Virgin’s Guide to Everything: From Sushi to Sample Sales–A Novice’s Handbook to Doing It Right

I’m surprised that there aren’t more positive reviews of this book. It is what it is, a funny guidebook for women who want to do something new – and want to know the basics about what to expect. It’s depressingly culturually insensitive of people who say that doing things like eating sushi, or going abroad, or tasting wine, or throwing a dinner party for the first time are things we should already know about. Don’t they know that a lot of us – especially people who aren’t white and rich – don’t grow up knowing this information? I’m in my thirties, and I still found it really helpful. Funny, too.

Condescending book. Does the author really think women are this dumb that they need a book to tell them how to do this stuff. How insulting. Don’t waste your money buying it. If you’re still interested in reading it check it out at the public library and save your cash.

Gee I hope this was written by the publisher’s daughter, otherwise I have no clue how this thing got published, it’s a waste. Read a cereal box, more informative.

This is a great book to finally ask all those questions you may not have asked or too ashamed to admit you need the answers to. I believe as strong women we can still indulge our girlie side and it’s interesting to muse and ponder what some other women have found works for them. It’s a great read and touches on lots of areas that are both fun and useful. Pick it up today!
